Lily Lamboy

Lily Lamboy is a performance artist, scholar, community organizer and experience designer whose work seeks to create the necessary myths to help citizens envision and enact a more liberated future. She is the Executive Director of the Modern Family Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where everyone has a community of care through storytelling, education, and policy change.

Lily holds a PhD in Social and Political Philosophy from Stanford University, where she also taught in the Rhetoric program, trained in the Department of Theater & Performance Studies, and created work with the Stanford Theater Lab. She draws from a mix of disciplines, inspirations, and media to create immersive experiences. In recent years, she has worked with the San Francisco Exploratorium, Taylor Mac, Take 3 Presents, Say Nothing and Leave, the Franconia Salon, and AnomalousCo.

Her work blends reverence with absurdity, incorporating movement, original music, and immersive theater to create deeply moving, politically-informed, belly-laugh-inducing experiences for participants from a diverse range of backgrounds.
